2 removing signboard get electrocuted

Hyderabad: Two men were electrocuted while removing a signboard at Varalaxmi Arcade in Scientist Colony, Habsiguda on Friday night.
The victims were identified as Jatoth Balu, 36, a watchman at Mothi Arcade Apartments, and his relative Guguloth Mallesh, 25, who worked as a watchman at Kranthi Degree College in Ramanathapur.
According to police, the incident took place around 11 pm when they were trying to remove an old signboard of a chit fund office. Police said the men were asked to remove the signboard by Tati Ravi, a tenant on the third floor, who was planning to set up an office for a chocolate company in the space.
“While they were removing the signboard, it accidentally slipped and came in contact with nearby electric wires, resulting in the immediate electrocution of both the men,” said Nacharam sub-inspector B Venkataiah.
Emergency services, including fire brigade and electricity department officials, rushed to the scene. The bodies were later sent to the Gandhi Mortuary for post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
