A donor heart was transported in 13 minutes covering 13 kilometeres across 13 stations in a move that proved anything can be possible if worked with the right intentions. The Hyderabad Metro Rail specially created a green corridor that facilitated a smooth and convenient transportation of a donor heart.
The corridor, made on Friday, January 17 at 9:30 PM, transported a donor heart from LB Nagar’s Kamineni Hospitals to Gleneagles Global Hospital, Lakdi-ka-pul. It was made after Hyderabad Metro Rail came together with medical professionals, and hospital authorities under the guidance of the attending doctors to make the life-saving mission successful by shortening the time considering the sensitivity of the situation.
A video of the transportation was shared by the Hyderabad Metro Rail on their Instagram account. The video shows two men from the hospital carrying the box containing the heart in the metro. “Hyderabad Metro proudly facilitated a Green Corridor for a heart transplant, ensuring swift and seamless transportation. From LB Nagar’s Kamineni Hospitals to Lakdi-ka-pul’s Gleneagles Hospital, this life-saving mission was made possible through teamwork, precision, and a commitment to serving society,” it wrote.
According to a press release from the Hyderabad Metro rail, L&T Metro Rail remains dedicated to aiding emergency services and giving back to the community, utilizing its state-of-the-art infrastructure.
