Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh IT minister and Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of maintenance of NTR Ghat on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad, where legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao was laid to rest in 1996.
Accompanied by his mother, Nara Bhuvaneshwari, Lokesh visited NTR Ghat and paid tributes to the late NTR (his grandfather) on the occasion of the 29th death anniversary of NTR.
Lokesh observed damage to walls and ceilings, and a lack of maintenance of lights. He directed his staff to carry out necessary repairs and offered to spend money from his personal funds for the repairs.
The NTR Ghat is under the maintenance of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, and Lokesh will need permission from HMDA to carry out repairs. tnn
