Hyderabad: Nirmal police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly strangling and bludgeoning a minor boy to after after the latter resisted attempts to sodomise him in Chityala village.
According to police, the 14-year-old boy was found murdered near the fields in the village on Saturday. Based on clues and technical leads, police picked up the man, who confessed to killing the boy on Friday night.
Police said that the man saw the boy near a toddy shop in the village and trapped him. He took the boy to an isolated location in the village and forced himself on the minor. When the boy resisted his advances, Rajesh killed him, fearing that the teenager would inform his family and then police.
Nirmal SP Janaki Sharmila, who visited the crime scene on Saturday, deputed four special teams to nab the killer.
The culprit was sent to judicial remand on Sunday, an investigating officer said.
