The Telangana delegation led by Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu held a Round Table interaction with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) and explained the opportunities available in Telangana for the growth of the semiconductor industry.
The Minister explained the incentives being given and also the immense talent pool available in Telangana during the brainstorming sessions where the participants exchanged views on the opportunities and scope in the State.
Several high-profile leaders from the semiconductor industry participated in the meeting. Chairman SSIA and Regional President of Applied Materials Inc. Brian Tan; vice chairman of SSIA and Senior VP of GlobalFoundries Singapore Tan Yew Kong; and secretary SSIA and president and MD of the Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte C. S. Chua were among those who were present.
The SSIA shared learnings, best practices, and lessons from Singapore’s meteoric rise and global consolidation in the semiconductor sector. Minister Sridhar Babu, while expounding on the salient features invited the Singapore industry to invest in the State.
The SSIA responded very keenly and positively to the Telangana invite. A big team is set to visit Hyderabad later this year to explore opportunities on the ground.
