VinFast VF6, VF7 India Launch Details: Mahindra EVs Rivals

VinFast, the Vietnamese EV (electric vehicle) automaker, has finally marked its entry in the Indian market at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The carmaker displayed its entire global product line of four and two-wheelers along with a concept. Revealing its plan for India, VinFast said that the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs will go on sale in India before this year’s Diwali. Both EVs will be produced at the company’s Tamil Nadu manufacturing facility in the second half of the calendar year. Let’s take a closer look at all key details of the upcoming VinFast VF6 and VinFast VF7.

VinFast VF6

The VF6 midsize electric SUV will be the first product from the Vietnamese automaker in the country. It will be positioned against the cars like Mahindra BE 6. The model lineup will come in two variants – Eco and Plus – featuring a 59.6kWh battery pack with the 178bhp/250Nm and 204bhp/310Nm front axle-mounted electric motor, respectively. While the Eco trim will deliver a WLTP range of 399km, the Plus variant will promise 381km.

Both variants will be packed with several advanced goodies including a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Level 2 ADAS suite, OTA (over-the-air) updates and more. The VinFast VF6 is a five-seater EV, measuring 4,238mm in length, 1,820mm in width and 1,594mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,730mm.

VinFast VF7

VinFast VF7 electric SUV

The VinFast VF7 will be bigger and premium than the VF6 EV. It’s an electric coupe SUV, which will be offered in two variants – Eco and Plus – using a 75.3kWh battery pack. The Eco variant has an electric motor pushing out a peak power of 204bhp and 310Nm of torque, while the Plus trim comes with the dual motor setup delivering a combined power worth 354bhp and 500Nm. The claimed WLTP range of the Eco and Plus VF7 stand at 450km and 431km, respectively.

With the Eco trim, you get features such as 19-inch alloy wheels and 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Plus variant comes with the 20 and 21-inch alloy wheel options and a 15-inch info unit. Both variants get the Level 2 ADAS tech along with lots of premium features.
