Tata Sierra 4X4 Petrol, Diesel, EV Launch Details Out!

Tata Sierra SUV (ICE-powered) recently made its public debut in its close-to-production form at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, alongside the Harrier EV and Safari (ICE) Stealth Editions. The carmaker has confirmed that the SUV’s all-new version will be offered with three powertrain options – petrol, diesel and electric – in the second half of this year. It’s most likely to arrive during 2025 festive season (October – November).

Tata Sierra Petrol, Diesel Specs (Expected)

The exact specifications of the Sierra SUV are yet to be announced. However, its petrol and diesel versions are expected to feature the brand’s new 1.5L turbo and 2.0L diesel engines, delivering power worth 170bhp with 280Nm and 170bhp with 350Nm, respectively.

Tata Sierra EV Specs (Expected)

The electric iteration of the Sierra is likely to come with two battery pack options, which will range between 60kWh – 80kWh. Both single and dual motor setups might also be on offer. Its maximum electric range is estimated to be around 500km on a full charge. The AWD (all-wheel drive) system could be exclusively offered on the higher trims of the SUV.

Tata Sierra Interior: 3 Screens Setup

The Sierra petrol and diesel SUV will be underpinned by Tata’s new ATLAS architecture, while its electric version will be designed on the Acti.ev platform. The showcased model confirms that the SUV will have three screens setup, working as an infotainment system (one in the centre and one in the passenger side) and a digital instrument cluster. The exact size of the screen isn’t revealed yet, but it’s likely to measure around 12.3-inch. A four-spoke steering wheel with illuminated signature logo and ambient lighting are also visible in the showcase model.

Expected Features

The entire feature list of the Sierra is still under the wraps. However, it’s expected to come with several premium offerings such as a Harman sourced sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360 degree camera, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, electronic stability control, 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS suite and more.

Tata Sierra Petrol, Diesel: Design

Looking at the Sierra ICE version, one can easily notice its resemblance to its electric iteration. However, the former has differently designed front grille and alloy wheels. Design bits such as the curved over rear side windows, squarish wheel arches and pronounced bonnet are reminiscent of the original Sierra SUV.
