Toyota Urban Cruiser EV concept has been unveiled for the Indian market at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi. It’s essentially the re-badged version of the Maruti and Vitarawhich is due for March 2025. The official launch date and details of Toyota’s electric SUV are yet to be revealed, though it’s expected to arrive in the second half of the year.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV: Design
The SUV’s final model is expected to closely resemble its concept, but it will be slightly smaller and more toned down. Upfront, the EV features the signature grille and headlamps and angular bumper with radiator section. The side profile has been adorned by the black plastic cladding, C-pillar integrated rear door handles and aero-optimized alloy wheels ranging between 18-19-inch. At the back, the new Toyota electric SUV features its concept-like taillamps, sporty bumper and a roof spoiler.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV: Interior & Features
The interior layout and features of the new Toyota electric SUV are similar to the Maruti e Vitara. It features the same 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment system and two-spoke steering wheel. The higher trim will be exclusively offered with the sliding and reclining rear seats and a 40:20:40 split-folding function. The feature list also includes a single zone auto climate control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 360 degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS suite.
Toyota Electric SUV: Platform & Dimensions
Similar to Maruti Suzuki’s e Vitara, the Toyota electric SUV underpins a skateboard platform. The EV measures 4,285mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,640mm in height. It sits on a 2,700mm long wheelbase. Toyota claims that the Urban Cruiser EV has a turning radius of 5.2 metres.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV: Battery & Power
The powertrain setup of the Urban Cruiser EV includes two battery pack options – 49kWh with a 144bhp/189Nm electric motor and 61kWh with a 174bhp/189Nm electric motor. The larger battery will also be available with an additional 65bhp rear axle mounted motor and AWD configuration. This setup delivers a claimed power of 184bhp and 300Nm of torque. These top-spec variants of the EV also get a ‘Trail Mode’ and hill descent control.
