Kia India has updated its three major volume generating models – Sonet subcompact SUV, Seltos midsize SUV and Carens compact MPV. With this update, all three UVs have discontinued the diesel-iMT powertrain. Now, the iMT gearbox option is available exclusively with the turbo petrol engine. Let’s take a look at what all have changed in the 2025 Kia Sonet, Seltos and Carens.
2025 Sonet

The updated Sonet gets a new HTK+ (O) trim, positioned between the HTK (O) and HTX trims. This new trim offers some extra features over the HTK (O) such as the signature Tiger Nose grille with knurled matte chrome surround, electric sunroof, R16 crystal cut alloy wheels and electric sunroof. Inside, it has leatherette wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and door armrest, Indigo Pera leatherette seats, smart key push button start, smartphone wireless charger, dash cam with dual camera and remote engine start on smart key.

The new HTK+ (O) comes with two engine-gearbox options – 1.2L petrol manual and 1.0L turbo petrol iMT. The diesel-iMT HTX+ trim has been removed from the model lineup along with the Gravity Edition. After these updates, the 2025 Kia Sonet comes within the price range of Rs 8 lakh – Rs 15.70 lakh.
2025 Kia Seltos

The 2025 Kia Seltos model lineup received three new trims, namely, HTK (O), HTK+ (O) and HTX (O). Meanwhile, the mid-spec HTX diesel-iMT trim and GTX trims have been discontinued. The iMT gearbox option is now available with the HTK+ trim only. It uses a 1.5L turbo petrol engine delivering power worth 160SP and 253Nm of torque. Key features of the HTK+ trims include a fully automatic AC unit, leatherette wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, projector fog lamps and more. Prices of the updated Seltos model lineup start from Rs 11.13 lakh and go up to Rs 20.51 lakh.
2025 Kia Carens

Unlike the updated Sonet and Seltos, the 2025 Kia Carens retains the Gravity Edition. However, the Luxury trim has been removed (both 6 and 7-seater variants), leaving only the Luxury Plus for sale. The diesel automatic engine-gearbox combo is now offered only with the Prestige Plus (O) trim. The X-Line trim is now available only with the turbo petrol DCT combination. The new Kia Carens prices fall in the range of Rs 10.60 lakh – Rs 19.70 lakh.
