Nizamabad, Kamareddy: Barring sporadic protests, grama sabhas in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts, passed off peacefully on Tuesday. People in large numbers attended the meetings in their respective villages and wards.
Officials received applications from people on Rythu Bharosa, new ration cards, Indiramma houses and Indiramma Athmiya Bharosa schemes.
Nizamabad collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu participated in a grama sabha at Lolam village in Indalwai mandal. He interacted with people and directed officials to take necessary steps while drawing the beneficiaries’ lists.
In Kamareddy district, collector Ashish Sangwan took part in grama sabhas in Bhagirthapally village in Bhiknoor mandal and Lingupally village in Domakonda mandal. He said that issuing ration cards is a regular process and all eligible people will get the government schemes.
Meanwhile. BJP MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy faced the ire of women in Khudwanpur village in Nandipet mandal during the grama sabha. They alleged that Rakesh Reddy had promised to build 10 houses in each village during his Assembly election campaign but forgot it.
BRS MLA V. Prashanth Reddy alleged that Praja Palana grama sabhas were conducted with police force. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the ministers failed to address the problems of people, he said. Noticing public anger, police forces were deployed during grama sabhas, he added.
