Mohanlal’s directorial debut, Barroz: Guardian of Treasures released in cinemas during Christmas 2024, struggled to impress audiences. Today, the film has officially premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar.
Unlike its 3D-only theatrical release, the OTT version is available in 2D and can be streamed in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. While the movie didn’t perform well in theaters, its OTT reception remains to be seen.
The film features Mohanlal alongside Maya Rao West, Tuhin Menon, Ignacio Mateos, Joshua Okesalako, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Cesar Lorente Raton, and Guru Somasundaram.
The screenplay was written by Kalavoor Ravikumar, with Mark Kilian composing the background score and Lydian Nadhaswaram contributing to the songs. Santosh Sivan oversaw cinematography, while B. Ajithkumar handled the editing.
