Anil Ambani Group chairman Anil Ambani inspected landholdings at Krishnapatnam in Muthukur mandal in SPSR Nellore district on Thursday.
Accompanied by revenue officials, Mr. Ambani and his company officials visited the spot located close to Krishnapatnam Port. It may be recalled that the government had allocated 2,400 acres of land in this region to Anil Ambani’s Reliance Power for establishing an ultra mega power plant, which however did not take off.
The visit assumes significance as the State government had served a notice on the company, with a rider to take back the allocated land, citing inordinate delay in execution of the project. In view of the power project becoming close to unviable, the group is learnt to be considering an alternative venture at the site, according to sources.
