More Than Brezza, Venue, Nexon

Skoda Kylaq is the latest subcompact SUV offering from the Czech automaker in India. The prices of the model have already been announced, and deliveries are slated to commence from 27th January, 2025. The Kylaq comes in four trims – Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige – priced from Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh (all, ex-showroom). All variants are powered by a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, returning a claimed power of 115bhp and 178Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The company has now revealed the mileage figures. The Skoda Kylaq offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.68kmpl with manual and 19.05kmpl with automatic transmission. In the subcompact SUV space, this new Skoda goes up against the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. Interestingly, the Kylaq’s mileage figures are higher than all its arch petrol rivals.

The Tata Nexon petrol offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.44kmpl (MT) and 17.01kmpl (AT), while the Maruti Brezza delivers 17.38kmpl with manual and 19.07kmpl with automatic gearbox. The Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet petrol with manual and automatic gearbox combinations return 17.5kmpl/18.8kmpl and 18.31kmpl/19.2kmpl, respectively.

Feature Highlights:

Skoda has packed its entry-level variant generously. The Classic trim comes with features such as analogue dials with digital MID, fabric seats, power windows, powered wing mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering adjust, adjustable headrests for all passengers, three-point seat belts for all passengers, rear parking sensors, Isofix anchors, electronic stability control and traction control, ABS with EBD, six airbags, roof rails, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, LED headlights and taillamps, and LED DRLs.

Advanced features such as leatherette upholstery, powered sunroof, auto dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, auto front wipers, rear wipers, 17-inch alloys and paddle shifters are exclusive to the top-end Signature+ trim.

Colours & Warranty:

Buyers can choose from seven colour options for the new Skoda Kylaq, namely, Deep Black, Lava Blue, Candy White, Carbon Steel, Tornado Red, Olive Gold and Brilliant Silver. The carmaker is offering three year/1,00,000 km standard warranty, whichever comes earlier.
