Samsung launches Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung on Wednesday (January 22, 2025) launched the Galaxy S25 series having Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones. With its first and major global launch of 2025the South Korean company pushes aggressively towards gen AI features.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will also bring the AI-integrated One UI 7 operating skin based upon Android 15. It would be able to generate image from text prompts.

The Galaxy S25 series will have gen AI features like circle to search, call transcript, writing assist, and drawing assist as well.

The Galaxy S25 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and the first set of phones from Samsung to use the newest mobile processor from Qualcomm. With this, the Galaxy S25 series has to compete with the newly launched OnePlus 13, iQOO 13 and Realme GT 7 Pro with the same chipset.

“Galaxy S25 also introduces post-quantum cryptography, safeguarding personal data against emerging threats that could increase as quantum computing evolves,” Samsung said.

Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung has upgraded the ultrawide camera on the Galaxy S25 series to a new 50 MP sensor, up from the previous 12 MP in the previous generation. Along with it, the 200 MP main camera remains the same, and also a 50 MP telephoto with 5x zoom and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. The selfie camera remains unchanged at 12 MP.

The Galaxy S25 series will have Audio eraser to remove unwanted noise in videos.

To match iPhone 16 Pro Max, the Galaxy S25 Ultra too has a 6.9 inch screen with a 2,600 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Galaxy S25 Ultra features titanium and the new Corning Gorilla Armor 2 for protection.

Galaxy S25 Ultra ships with a 5,000 mAh battery and no charger, but does support 45 W charging.

Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with 12 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage.

Galaxy S25+

The Samsung Galaxy S25+ has a 6.7 inch display with 2,600 nits peak brightness.

Samsung has used a 4,900 mAh battery in Galaxy S25+ but no charger here either. It does support 45 W charging.

The camera set up remains same as of S24+. It has a 50 MP main, a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 10 MP telephoto sensor. Selfie camera is of 12 MP here as well.

Galaxy S25

The base variant in the Galaxy S25 series offers a 6.2 inch display with same peak brightness as S25+/Ultra.

The camera equals the Galaxy S25+.

Galaxy S25 ships with a 4,000 mAh battery with 25 W charging support but adapter is not included in the box.

Pricing and pre-order

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra begins at ₹1,29,999 for the 12 GB/256 GB. The 12 GB/512 GB model is for ₹1,41,999 and the 12 GB/1 TB variant at ₹1,65,999. It will come in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Gray, Titanium Whitesilver, Titanium Black shades, while the 1 TB model has Titanium Silverblue appearance.

The Galaxy S25+ starts at ₹99,999 for the 12 GB/256 GB variant. The 12 GB/512 GB model will retail at ₹1,11,999. It will sell in Navy, Silver Shadow colours.

Galaxy S25 begins at ₹80,999 for 12 GB/256 GB. The 12 GB/512 GB variant costs ₹92,999. It will have Icyblue, Silver Shadow, Navy, Mint shades.

All the Galaxy S25 series phones go for pre-order on January 23 across retail and online platforms.
