In the first T20 match played in Kolkata, openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson gave a fast start to India. Left-handed Abhishek Sharma batted brilliantly and scored 79 runs in 34 balls with the help of 5 fours and 8 sixes. The English bowlers looked helpless in front of Abhishek’s batting.

India won the toss and decided to bowl first. The England team, who came to bat first, was all out for 132 runs in 20 overs. England captain Jos Buttler played a brilliant inning and scored 68 runs in 44 balls with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. Apart from this, no batsman could even cross the 20-run mark. Varun Chakraborty took maximum 3 wickets from India’s side.
Team India, chasing the target, won by scoring 133 runs at the loss of three wickets in just 12.5 overs. Abhishek Sharma batted brilliantly for the team and played a brilliant inning of 79 runs. Apart from this, Sanju Samson scored 26 runs in 20 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six. For England, fast bowler Joffra Archer took maximum 2 wickets.
