3-year target set for major capital projects | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: State govt is determined to complete all the major projects in capital city Amaravati within three years, said municipal administration minister Dr P Narayana. He said that the works of major projects will be launched in the first week of Feb after completion of the tender process.
The minister inspected the status of pumping out water from the raft foundation and other buildings in Nelapadu village under the capital city area on Friday.
Speaking to the media, Narayana said that govt has restarted all the stalled projects in capital city within six months of coming back to power. He said that a majority of works would have been completed had the previous regime not destroyed the capital city.
“We had pooled about 34,000 acres of land within 58 days after issuing the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) notification on Jan 1, this year. We could achieve the unimaginable task only due to the trust of locals on chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Shockingly, entire process was spoiled by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led govt which deserting key projects, even those that were almost complete,” said Narayana.
He said that govt got the designs prepared with world’s top architecture firm-Norman and Fosters as chief minister Naidu wanted to make Amaravati one of the top five cities in the world.
The municipal administration minister said that they had started works on 4,053 flats and bungalows for NGOs, gazette officers, All India Service (AIS) officers and judges well before 2019.
He said that previous govt deliberately stalled all such prestigious works out of vengeance against Chandrababu Naidu to tarnish his image.
Narayana continued saying that the people not only threw YSRCP out of power but gave the party just 11 seats due to its campaign against the peoples’ capital city.
The municipal administration minister explained that they designed the new Andhra Prades legislative assembly to be 250 meter tall with an aim to make it a major tourist spot. He said people would be allowed to go to the top of the building to watch nearby places whenever there was no assembly session.
