Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy returned to Hyderabad on Friday morning to a tumultuous welcome after attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual conference 2025 in Davos, Switzerland.

Congress party leaders, including MLAs, MPs, including Chamala Kiran Reddy, Danam Nagender, T Rammohan Reddy, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Erlapally Shankar among others, accorded a grand welcome to Mr. Reddy at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. Senior officials were also present.

In Davos, the Telangana delegation led by the Chief Minister attracted massive investments worth ₹1.78 lakh crore that have the potential to create 49,550 jobs, as per the Chief Minister’s Office. The major investment of all was ₹60,000 crore from Amazon Web Services to expand its data centres in Telangana.

This achievement marks a significant milestone, with the State signing Memorandam of Understanding (MoU) with 20 major firms, including the global giants like AWS, and the combined worth of commitments made at the World Economic Forum being over four times higher than last year’s ₹40,233 crore.

The biggest individual investments include Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the foremost hyperscalers in the world, with ₹60,000 crore, Sun Petrochemicals with ₹45,500 crore, Tillman Global Holdings with ₹15,000 crore and Megha Engineering (MEIL) with ₹15,000 crore. Software majors HCL, Infosys and Wipro made significant commitments, which will create 5,000, 17,000 and 5,000 jobs, respectively, in Hyderabad, officials said.

Data Centres emerged as a major focus area. Amazon, Tillman, Usra, CrtlS and Sify announced new facilities and expansions. The State also witnessed significant investments in cutting-edge areas like Solar Cells, rocket manufacturing, aircraft interior design, and UAV manufacturing. Jindal’s defence investments were another notable success.

Other significant developments included investments in private industrial parks, with Ramky Group and MTS Group committing to integrated industrial parks, dry ports and townships. The State also made pioneering strides in agriculture-facing industries, with Unilever giving the green light for two manufacturing units.

Mr. Revanth Reddy emphasised Telangana’s vision to become a $1 trillion SDGP economy, focusing on aggressive clustering, infrastructure development and sustainability. He highlighted the State’s core strengths in software and pharma, while exploring growth opportunities in Data Centres, Green Energy, Food Processing, Electric Vehicles and Semiconductors.
