A major fire broke out at a godown in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada on Thursday, officials said.
Upon receiving an alert about the incident, several fire tenders were rushed to the spot, which brought the fire under control. No casualties were reported in the incident.
According to the police, the incident happened in the Bandar Road area of the city, where a medical godown was gutted in the fire, resulting in the loss of at least Rs five crore.
The exact cause of the fire was not known.
Speaking about the incident, G Srinivasulu, a senior fire officer of Vijayawada said, “As soon as we received the information, we reached the spot… No injuries or casualties have been reported.”
