Hyderabad woman murder case: 10 key points about the investigation – India News

The Hyderabad police are investigating the alleged murder of a 35-year-old woman, P Venkata Madhavi, whose husband, Gurumurthy, claims to have killed, cooked, and disposed of her body parts in various locations, including Jillelaguda Lake.

The investigation into the alleged murder has encountered a major roadblock, as no body parts have been recovered so far. The case took a shocking turn when the woman’s husband, Gurumurthy, a 45-year-old ex-serviceman from Andhra Pradesh, confessed to the crime. He claimed to have killed his wife, dismembered her body, and disposed of the remains at various locations, including the Jillelaguda Lake. Gurumurthy, who currently works as a security guard at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Kanchan Bagh, provided details of his gruesome act to the police six days after his wife was reported missing.

Despite extensive search operations conducted by law enforcement agencies, no trace of the woman’s remains has been found, raising doubts about the veracity of the husband’s confession. Authorities have deployed forensic teams and specialized divers to search the lake and surrounding areas but have yet to find any conclusive evidence. The police are now exploring other possibilities, including the potential involvement of other individuals or whether Gurumurthy fabricated the confession. Investigators continue their efforts, focusing on CCTV footage, call records, and forensic analysis to uncover the truth behind the alleged murder.
