Vijayawada: Bapatla district witnessed significant advancements in policing as Andhra Pradesh DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao inaugurated modern facilities at Chirala One Town and Karamchedu police stations on Friday. The DGP emphasised the state’s commitment to integrating technology into law enforcement to enhance safety, reduce crime, and manage traffic more effectively.
At Chirala One Town police station, the DGP launched an Integrated Command and Control System equipped with 210 CCTV cameras, including 150 for urban areas and 60 for coastal regions from Vodarevu to Pottisubbaiahpalem. The system features public addressing units, drone surveillance, LED monitors, and a repeater network to ensure seamless two-way communication and real-time monitoring.
The command centre, linked to all cameras, enables authorities to issue direct instructions and respond swiftly to the emergencies.
