Telangana Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka, who also handles the portfolios of Energy and Finance, has instructed the power utilities, particularly the two distribution companies, to hold meetings at field level from January 27 to February 4 by involving all the stakeholders. At a review meeting held with the senior executives of the power utilities here on Thursday, Mr. Vikramarka told the authorities to plan in advance to procure energy by estimating demand during the summer season so that there is no interruption in power supply to any category of the consumers.
He told the authorities of Northern Discom to be prepared to meet the peak power load of 6,328 megawatt in their limits during the summer season and strengthen the transmission and distribution networks accordingly. He told them to identify the sub-station wise overload problems in the Discom and keep ready the emergency response teams to handle the power outages due to gales. Principal Secretary (Energy) S.K. Sultania, Chairman and Managing Director of Transmission Corporation of Telangana Ltd D. Krishna Bhaskar, CMD of Northern Discom K. Varun Reddy, Directors of Transco and Northern Discom attended the meeting.
