Around 240 kg chicken, 43 kg mutton and 110 kg of fish were seized during the raids conducted by the officials of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) at various parts in the city on Sunday. The GVMC has issued strict instructions to the traders not to sell meat and fish in view of Republic Day celebrations. GVMC Veterinary Officer N. Kishore Kumar said that fines to the tune of around ₹16,000 were slapped against the violators.
