AP Film Chamber Established in Kurnool: T.G. Venkatesh

Kurnool: Former Rajya Sabha member T.G. Venkatesh announced on Sunday that the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce has been established in Kurnool. Speaking at the event, he highlighted that while Tamil Nadu is the birthplace of films, the people of Rayalaseema have played a pivotal role in establishing large studios in Madras and contributing to the growth of the film industry.

Venkatesh remarked that Rayalaseema is a cultural hub, with its people being significant financiers of films. However, he expressed disappointment that film production and shoots have not been taking place in this culturally rich region.

He noted that despite the bifurcation of the state, the film industry remained concentrated in Hyderabad.

To address this, the decision to establish a film industry in Andhra Pradesh was made in order to encourage its development within the state. Venkatesh assured filmmakers that the Film Chamber of Commerce would provide the necessary support and work with commitment to secure permissions from the state government for the growth of the industry.
