Hyderabad: On Sunday, A Ravinder Reddy, president of the Telangana HC advocates association, urged both the judiciary and central govt authorities to expedite the clearance of four names of advocates, which were sent by the HC to the Supreme Court in December 2023. While the names of district judges sent later were cleared and appointed as HC judges, the four advocate names are still pending.
Reddy emphasized that to address the backlog of cases, filling judicial vacancies should be prioritized. He made these comments during his address to the legal fraternity at the HC’s Republic Day celebrations.
Reddy also raised concerns about the allocation of space for the Bar in the new HC building. In response, acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul assured that the state had sanctioned 2,580 crore for the construction of the new building at Rajendranagar. “There will be sufficient space for your association, chambers for senior advocates, and all necessary amenities,” he said. “Let us work together to turn the vision of our Constitution into a reality,” he added.
