Hyderabad: Congress on Sunday criticised the NDA govt at the centre and its Union minister, Bandi Sanjay, for attempting to change the Constitution and introduce the Manuwad theory. They stated that the Centre would not sanction a single house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) if the housing scheme continues to be named after former PM the late Indira Gandhi.
BC welfare and transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed his anger over Sanjay’s comments on the Indiramma housing scheme. “Bandi Sanjay does not have to give money from his pocket. It is the right of the state govt to seek central funds for the projects and welfare schemes,” he added.
The Centre collected 37,000 crore in the form of GST in 10 months. How much did the centre give to Telangana? Why were central govt schemes named like Deen Dayal Antyodaya and Deen Dayal Griha Jyoti? Did these people sacrifice their lives for the country? Have the two central ministers from Telangana brought even a single additional rupee from the Centre? asked Ponnam.
TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, after unfurling the national flag at Gandhi Bhavan, accused BJP of trying to implement the saffron agenda in the country, but Congress would always be on the side of the people.
“BJP is trying to implement the saffron agenda in the country. It is planning to implement the Manuwad theory by setting aside the Constitution written by Ambedkar. That is why Union home minister Amit Shah made inappropriate comments and insulted Ambedkar in Parliament. In the state, Union minister Bandi Sanjay is saying that Indiramma’s name should not be mentioned,” he said.
