Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday accused Opposition parties of trying to stall the implementation of welfare schemes by creating obstacles at the gram sabha level.
During the launch of four new welfare schemes — Rythu Bharosa, new ration cards, Indiramma houses, and Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa — in Chinna Gopathi, Konijarla mandal, Bhatti criticised the former BRS government for accumulating wealth without genuine concern for the people’s welfare. He alleged that the TRS was conspiring to obstruct the implementation of these welfare initiatives across the state.
“Beware KTR, you and your party are sure to be swept away in the flood of welfare schemes implemented by the Congress government even as you continue to live in illusion,” he asserted.
Bhatti said that although the four schemes may appear simple, they would impose a financial burden of Rs 45,000 crore on the state exchequer. He questioned why the TRS government did not implement these welfare schemes during its 10-year tenure.
He emphasised that the Constitution of India embodies the nation’s ethos and laid the foundation for India’s global strength. According to Bhatti, certain forces are undermining the spirit of the Constitution to push their personal agendas. He launched a broadside against former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for advocating changes to the Constitution and criticised his son Rama Rao for ignoring the people’s woes, instead raising unfounded questions about whether the schemes would only be implemented in one village. Bhatti assured that the welfare schemes would be executed in saturation mode, in contrast with previous rulers who allegedly used the government for personal gain.
Bhatti highlighted that the government formally started the four schemes in every village on the day of the launch. He praised the Congress for fulfilling its promise to waive crop loans for farmers up to Rs 2 lakh, depositing Rs 22,000 crore within three months.
As the CLP leader, Bhatti went on a padayatra from Adilabad to Khammam and pledged, as Deputy CM, to address the issues faced by the people that came to his attention during the padyatra.
