Guv lauds Telangana government’s federal spirit and welfare projects

Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma praised the Telangana govt for exemplifying the true spirit of federalism by maintaining cordial and constructive relations with the Union govt. He emphasised that this federal spirit strengthens the fabric of democracy and ensures harmonious governance. Referring to the Congress govt as “Praja Prabhutvam,” he outlined four key welfare measures: Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Indlu, Indiramma, and Atmeeya Bharosa.
In his first Republic Day speech, the governor elaborated on various developmental measures taken by the Congress govt, including the Musi Development Project.
The governor also highlighted the govt’s caste survey as a commitment to data-based initiatives. He lauded the survey, saying, “The caste survey exemplifies the govt’s dedication to data-driven and evidence-based initiatives, fostering inclusivity through data.”
He referenced numerous initiatives, particularly the implementation of six guarantees by the govt during its past year in office. These measures include free bus travel for women and transgender individuals, subsidised gas cylinders priced at 500, free electricity supply up to 200 units for low-income families, and an expansion of health coverage under the Aarogyasri scheme, all aimed at promoting equitable development and upliftment.
“The expansion of the metro rail system is expected to facilitate sustainable urban transit, while the revitalisation of the Musi River represents a significant initiative aimed at transforming it into a lively urban area. Collectively, these projects demonstrate the govt’s dedication to the sustainable development of the state capital and enhancing the quality of life for its residents,” he said.
The governor urged everyone to contribute to this vision, ensuring that their combined efforts lead to a brighter future for both Telangana and India.
