
Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet has expanded its reach in India with two brand new direct flight routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Bangalore and Hyderabad. Launching in March 2025, these routes, operated with Airbus A321, will be the first-ever non-stop flights between these Indian cities and Vietnam.
Post-launch, VietJet Air’s India-Vietnam network will grow to 10 routes, stacking up to 78 weekly flights. The expanded network will now connect major Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore with Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
New Vietjet flight routes and schedule in India
Ho Chi Minh City to Bangalore:
- This route will operate three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) starting March 19, 2025.
- Flight VJ1801 departs Ho Chi Minh City at 7:10 pm, arriving in Bangalore at 10:30 pm.
- The return flight, VJ1802, departs Bangalore at 11:30 pm and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 5:55 am the following day.
Ho Chi Minh City to Hyderabad:
- Launching on March 18, 2025, this route will operate twice weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays).
- Flight VJ1803 departs Ho Chi Minh City at 7:40 pm, arriving in Hyderabad at 10:35 pm.
- The return flight, VJ1804, departs Hyderabad at 11:35 pm and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 5:30 am the next day.

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) has reported a surge in the number of Indian tourists visiting Vietnam. The number has grown significantly in the past few years, from 138,000 in 2022 to 392,000 in 2023 and further to 501,000 in 2024. With these new direct flights, more Indian travellers are expected to explore Vietnam in 2025.
