The medical fraternity in Nizamabad lost one of its distinguished members with the passing away of noted dermatologist Dr. R Vidyasagar on Thursday (January 23, 2025).

Dr. Vidyasagar carved a niche for himself as a noted dermatologist during his distinguished career spanning more than three decades. Known for his pioneering role as a motivator and promoter of voluntary blood donation, Dr. Vidyasagar reportedly donated blood for nearly 101 times setting an inspiring example for others to follow. His body was donated to the Government Medical College in Nizamabad for medical research and education.

Condolences continue to pour in over the demise of Dr Vidyasagar as his close associates recall his noble endeavour of saving lives through voluntary blood donation and serving the cause of medical science and research through body donation. Members of the IMA and Indian Red Cross Society besides a host of NGOs condoled the death of Dr Vidyasagar, known for his ‘patient-centric approach’ and ‘healing touch’.
