Hyderabad police books case in connection with Hussainsagar boat fire mishap


Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police booked a case in connection with the boat fire accident at Hussainsagar on Sunday night. The case was booked based on a complaint lodged by Lumbini Park unit manager P Prahbudas.

In his complaint, he stated that Bharatha Matha Foundation would organize Bharatha Matha Maha Harathi at Peoples Plaza every year on January 26. As usual, the foundation organized the event this year and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy took part as a chief guest.

“We arranged a boat and a jetty to burst firecrackers. While burning fire crackers between 8.30 pm and 9 pm, accidentally one cracker missed the direction and entered the boat and all the crackers got burnt along with the boat.

Due to this, the jetty was also burnt and some persons in the boat suffered burn injuries. Ganapathi fire crackers operator and boat drivers D Sunil and Palle Pranith suffered injuries. Based on Prahbudas, the police booked a case and took up investigation.
