Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, here on Monday categorically said there was no question of giving Padma award to Telangana folk singer and balladeer Gaddar.
“What is the ideology of Gaddar. He was responsible for the death of several BJP activists who lost their lives in the hands of naxalites. The police were also killed by naxalites in the name of informers,” he said while interacting with media persons.
“There is no question of giving the Padma award to Gaddar in view of his ideology,” he said.
Referring to the centrally sponsored schemes (CCS) being implemented in the State, Sanjay slammed the Congress government in Telangana for naming the centrally sponsored schemes (CCS) in the name of Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi.
“It is up to the Congress government to name the schemes funded by it after Indira Gandhi, terrorist Osama Bin Laden or any other person. However, it cannot name CSS schemes after Indira Gandhi and others to derive mileage. If the Congress government fails to stop it, then the Centre would be forced to implement those schemes by itself only,” he said.
