Telangana Partners with Swiss Firm for India’s First Quantum Hub



In a first, the Telangana government has announced collaboration with QuantumBasel, Switzerland’s quantum and AI innovation hub, to establish India’s first Quantum Hub in Hyderabad. The initiative aims to position Telangana as a global leader in quantum technologies.


It is learnt that in a meeting attended by a delegation from QuantumBasel headed by CEO Damir Bogdan and board member Karl Gun, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu has signed a Letter of Intent in the presence of Nicholas Gugger, National Council of Switzerland and president, India-Switzerland Parliamentary Group.

The Quantum Hub will focus on advancements in quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and innovative solutions for industries such as finance, life sciences, and logistics. It will be used also as a platform for mentorship of academia, industry, and entrepreneurs as well as support of research and startups.


Speaking on X, the minister said, “Telangana is all set to become a global leader in quantum technologies! This Quantum Hub is a giant leap towards making our state a hub for futuristic technologies”.


Sridhar Babu also spoke about plans to raise awareness about quantum computing by bringing professors onto a common platform and organizing a seminar or summit at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) for engineering students in November.


This partnership underlines Telangana’s commitment to emerging technologies and its ambition to lead India into a quantum-driven future.
