The Uniform Civil Code i.e. UCC has been implemented in Uttarakhand. 26 -year -old Anjali Verma’s wedding was one of the first 5 weddings to be registered under it after the Uniform Civil Code was implemented in Uttarakhand. Anjali, who was working in the State Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA), was married 9 months ago. After the launch of the UCC portal, he registered the wedding on Monday. Anjali said that I filed my permanent address, birth certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card, residence certificate and all the information of my husband with documents. Then I had to bring two witnesses, parents or local parents to testify the live video uploaded on the portal.
How to register marriage
According to Anjali, after applying through immediate services, it was found through a message on Monday morning that the registration was approved. The message of ITDA running the portal states that its registration has been approved and it can download the certificate. Anjali said that if I want to get a passport, then I have to go to court and do a lawyer, it takes a lot of time. This will end with the implementation of UCC. For this, I will have to pay a fee of only 250 rupees.
Niketa Negi Rawat was one of the first women to recognize her already registered marriage under the UCC. They were married in 2013 and in 2017 Uttarakhand Register your marriage under the Compulsory Marriage Registration Act, 2010. Everyone in the state who has registered their marriage under another Act will have to submit documents in the UCC portal to register their marriage under the UCC.
Niketa told that I prepared my documents and got the wedding registered. He told that ‘I got married in 2013 and registered it in 2017. Under the UCC portal I logged in and recorded the details. Rawat said that I had uploaded all the documents yesterday and got approval this morning.
