All the parts except for the fuel tank for the RD 125 are here but till that time we shall get the parts sandblasted followed by powder coating.

Time to finish a project started 15 years ago
My RD 125 is my second bike which I had bought in a non running condition back in 2006 and was supposed to be restored back in 2010 post completion of the RD 200 rebuild but due to unavoidable circumstances the project could never be completed and was abandoned and the bike just stood in a corner collecting dust.
But, now that my RZ 350 project is completed we can now focus on the RD 125 and also get some OE cosmetic parts fitted on the RD 200 followed by a new paint scheme. All the parts except for the fuel tank for the RD 125 are here but till that time we shall get the parts sandblasted followed by powder coating to get the bike standing again. The restoration of the RD 125 shouldn’t be as complex or as challenging like the RZ 350 and we hope to get the bike ready by early.
Will keep the thread updated as the build progresses and for now sharing a few pictures of the bikes…
Its time to finally wake up after decades of neglect
Two covers is the norm no matter what state the bike is in
Then
Original seat with the rear plastic mount. Not sure If I will get this replicated as well as this one is broken
The original air box of the RD 200, which I plan to put back on and the battery box of the RD 125
This one is going to turn into a screamer very soon
RD 200 posing next to the RX for one final time before it returns in its new avatar
Tank paint after almost 15 years since it was last painted
The RD 350 panels will make way for the original ones finally
RD 350 oil tank will be replaced by the OE one. Believe it or not but both the dents on the tank and the oil tank were created by the RD 125 when it fell on the RD 200 in the workshop many moons back.
I could have ridden the RD 200 to the workshop but to save time decided to send it on the tow truck along with the RD 125 frame.
Also, avoided another trip in the car to drop off parts
A rare sight of rare bikes
Off they go
