Nothing is planning to launch its next flagship in March this year. CEO Carl Pei has previously confirmed that the Nothing Phone 3 is to debut by March 2025. Now, the company has recently shared a teaser, which is anticipated to be a hint of its upcoming phone. In the X (formerly Twitter) post, the company shared a glimpse of its traditional LED lights and the rest is left for speculation. Barring the information that its new innovation is coming in on March 4, the company has not shared any details. This takes us to a point: is the teased phone Nothing Phone 3 or Phone 3a?
Is it Nothing Phone 3 or Phone 3a?
Chronologically, Nothing should release the Phone 3 before Nothing Phone 3a. The CEO’s statement about launching the flagship in March and the 2-year gap indicates that this is a teaser belongs to the Nothing Phone 3 launch. The company released Nothing Phone 2 in 2023 and has been releasing follow-ups like Phone 2a and Phone 2a Plus in the following years. And now, we think, it is time to revisit the flagship timeline and release Nothing Phone 3 before any of its siblings. However, there is no confirmation yet.
On the other hand, tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the company will mix up the timeline this time by launching Nothing Phone 3a before the flagship. Another indication of Phone 3a’s early launch is that the teaser looks like the Nothing Phone 2a’s camera panel.
That said, only Nothing knows what is coming up in March, and we can only predict. Hence, stay tuned for the exact details on March 4 at 3:30PM.
Nothing Phone 3: What to expect
The Nothing Phone 3 marks a departure from the typical annual upgrade cycle, arriving two years after the Phone 2’s launch in July 2023. This extended timeline hints at significant enhancements, particularly in AI-driven capabilities, and has reignited excitement around the brand, thanks to Carl Pei’s recent confirmation.
Leaked details and a video shared by Pei suggest that the Nothing Phone 3 will serve as a central hub for a personalised, AI-powered experience. AI integration will be deeply woven into Nothing OS, potentially transforming how users interact with their home screens and manage daily tasks. One of the standout features rumoured for the device is an Action Button, reminiscent of the iPhone, which is expected to offer customisable shortcuts for a more tailored user experience. The phone will reportedly feature a 6.5-inch display, maintaining its sleek design.
In addition to the standard model, a Pro variant is rumoured to debut alongside it, catering to premium buyers with enhanced specifications, including a larger 6.7-inch display. However, details about the Pro model remain scarce, and this speculation should be taken with a grain of salt. Despite the quiet period following Phone 2, these developments suggest Nothing is gearing up to make a significant impact with its next release.
