The Anti-Corruption Bureau personnel recover Rs 1.40 lakh bribe amount from SI Vukkurthy Suresh and Constable Nagaraju

Suryapet: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday apprehended two police personnel – a sub-inspector and a constable, from the Thirumalagiri police station in Suryapet district for demanding and accepting bribe on Tuesday.
The accused SI, Vukkurthy Suresh, and Police Constable Nagaraju were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.40 lakh.
According to an ACB release, Suresh demanded Rs 3 lakh and accepted Rs 30,000 through PhonePe account of the local Sai Filling Station on January 25. He again took Rs 70,000 through Nagaraju and Rs 30,000 through PhonePe to Nagaraju’s bank account from the complainant to avoid arrest in connection with a case in Thirumalagiri police station. The ACB recovered the bribe amount of Rs 70,000 from Nagaraju in the presence of Suresh.
The total bribe amount involved in the case was Rs 1.40 lakh, in which Rs 1 lakh was meant for Suresh and Rs 40,000 for Nagaraju. Both the accused police personnel were arrested and produced before the court for ACB cases in Nampally, the ACB release said.
