Vijayawada: The United Teachers Federation (UTF) is gearing up for a statewide protest, demanding state govt to resolve the long-pending issues faced by govt employees. They have announced a series of protests across the state from Feb 8, this year. The associations are demanding for the State to appoint the 12th PRC chairman at the earliest and clear long-pending dues.
“The NDA alliance made many promises to govt teachers and employees before the 2024 general elections. We are eagerly waiting for our long-pending arrears and dearness allowances (DAs). It is almost seven months since new govt took charge, and there is no action plan to resolve these long-pending issues,” said Venkateswarulu, a representative of the UTF.
The protest will begin on Feb 8 at Ravulapalem, and a huge public meeting is planned at Vijayawada on Feb 9. Later, meetings will be held at Vishakapatnam and Anantapuram to unite the teachers.
