The award highlights the govt’s ongoing efforts to promote this traditional art form.
Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan expressed happiness over the recognition. They took to social media to congratulate artisans and officials involved in the tableau’s presentation. Naidu praised the artisans whose families have been making Etikoppaka toys for four centuries. He expressed happiness over national recognition for the local handicraft.

We are focusing on promoting these toys globally.” Pawan said.
The selection process for the tableau was rigorous, involving six evaluation rounds. I&PR joint director P Kiran Kumar, who has contributed to tableau pre-sentations for 22 years, emphasised its significance.
“This tableau represents the hard work behind preserving traditional crafts. We are confident it will receive the recognition it deserves,” he stated. By spotlighting the Etikoppaka toys, the tableau underscored Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to nurturing its cultural heritage while gaining national recognition for its artistic legacy.
The Andhra Pradesh govt aims to further elevate Etikoppaka’s international recognition by securing geo-tagging and expanding its market globally.
