Hyderabad: A junior lineman was physically assaulted, verbally abused, and his bike was damaged by a resident of Moula Ali on Monday after he disconnected the power supply over pending dues.
According to the police, Kurram Suresh, while on duty, noticed outstanding bills for a service connection at RTC Colony in Moula Ali. He informed the house’s resident, Rahim, about the pending dues. Despite multiple reminders, Rahim failed to clear the outstanding amount.
On Monday, Suresh disconnected the electricity supply to the house. Angered by this, a tenant identified as Irfan came out from the house, verbally abused Suresh, and physically attacked him. Rahim also damaged Suresh’s bike.
A case was filed following a complaint from additional assistant engineer A Venkat Reddy. Malkajgiri SHO confirmed that a case was registered under charges of assaulting a public servant. TNN
