Mahindra has revealed the prices of their new Veero CNG light commercial vehicle. It was showcased earlier in September 2024 and sales have just commenced. Mahindra Veero CNG is being presented in two variants. The base 1.4 XXL SD V2 CNG option carries a price tag of Rs 8.99 lakh while the top-spec 1.4 XXL SD V4 (A) CNG trim is at Rs 9.39 – (Both prices ex-showroom).
Mahindra Veero CNG
Mahindra is already a leader in the sub-3.5-ton light commercial vehicle segmentwhere it holds a 51.2% market share. With the new Veero CNG it now further cements its position in this segment that continues to gain traction in the Indian markets. It is ideally suited for e-commerce businesses.
Mahindra Veero is positioned on Mahindra’s modular Urban Prosper Platform (UPP). It redefines the LCD segment by offering new benchmarks in terms of safety, capacity and fuel efficiency. Cabin comforts are further highlighted special attention is paid to driver comforts and safety with several first-in-segment features.
Mahindra Veero gets a payload capacity of 1.4 tons. It boasts a cargo length of 3035 mm, thus making it perfect for many applications. Features extend to a large cabin area with three seats, a reclining driver’s seat, a TFT instrument cluster which is a first-in-segment feature and an air conditioner. It also receives a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, power windows and steering-mounted controls.
Driver’s safety is also given special emphasis. The Veero is designed with high-tensile steel and complies with AIS096 crash safety standards. It gets driver-side airbags, a reverse parking camera, False Start Avoidance System. It also ensures better visibility for the driver along with added protection for other occupants.
Efficiency Levels
Veero CNG has been designed for improved efficiency. It comes in powered by a CNG engine that offers 67 kW power and 210 Nm torque ensuring better acceleration. While it boasts a large 150L CNG tank, its mileage figures stand at 19.2 km/kg. In pure CNG format, it offers 480km of range.
Mahindra Veero is also presented with a 4.5L petrol tank for emergencies. This offers an extended range upwards of 500km. Following this successful launch, an electric version of the new Veero LCV will also be introduced in future.
Factors like Engine Stop-Start, Power Mode, and driver fuel coaching systems further enhance fuel efficiency and at the same time lead to lower overall costs. Ideally suited for both intra-city and inter-city usage, the new Veero comes in with a 20,000 km service interval. It significantly reduces downtime and operational costs making it a viable option for users.
