Truck and several vehicles fall into storm water drain as it caves in at Hyderabad’s Goshamahal

A truck and several vehicles fell into a storm water drain when the slab of the drain caved in on Tuesday (January 28, 2025) night in Goshamahal area.

The age-old box drain caved in under the weight of a cement mixer truck which got stuck in the nala about 10 feet deep on Chaknawadi road. The driver was rescued by local people.

This is the second time the nala collapsed in over two years. Previously, the slab collapsed in December, 2022, taking with it several push carts and parked vehicles down into the nala.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and Khairatabad zonal commissioner Anurag Jayanti inspected the area and assured repairs.
