Hyderabad: A bomb threat email sent to the Army Public School at Bollarum in the city has sent police and army officials into a tizzy.
According to the police, the email landed in the spam folder of the school’s account early on Tuesday morning, but the staff only noticed it on Wednesday morning.
Following this, the management immediately alerted the police and army authorities.
Several teams from different wings of the police and army rushed to the campus, launched a coordinated search operation and declared the threat a hoax, bringing a sigh of relief to the management, staff and children.
A case has been registered and is under investigation, Srinivas Chappidi, station house officer, Bollarum, told TOI on Wednesday.
“Though the threat was found to be a hoax, it is suspected to be an act of mischief. A detailed investigation is on to identify and trace the sender of the threat mail,” a senior police official said.
