Vijayawada: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly threw his father into a canal in Bhadrupalem village of Ipuru mandal of Palnadu district. Though the locals attempted to rescue the old man, their efforts proved futile. The deceased man was identified as Gangineni Kondayya (80).
According to the police, G Venkateswara Rao, a native of Nuzendla of Palnadu district, a trader by profession took his father to the canal in a car and threw into the canal. By the time locals noticed the incident and rescued the elderly man, he was dead. The police said their investigation revealed that Venkateswara Rao threw his father into the canal as he was unable to take care of him. A case has been registered and investigation is on to nab Rao.
