The Chandrababu Naidu Government has taken another step towards establishing a High Court bench in Kurnool.
Kurnool Collector Ranjit Basha has issued orders to the officials to study the place and facilities for the establishment of the High Court bench.

The Collector asked the officials to explore the facilities required for the High Court Bench.
The officials are looking for a place with all the facilities and will later submit a report to the District Collector in this regard.

The demand to establish a High Court in Kurnool as per the Sri Bagh Agreement is not a recent one.
The sentiment for a High Court Bench is in the people since 1937, even before independence. It has remained a dream for decades for various reasons.

Chandrababu promised in the ‘Prajagalam’ meeting that a ‘High Court Bench’ would be established in Kurnool. The Government started the exercise as soon as it came to power.
The government wrote a letter to the Registrar General of the High Court, requesting immediate steps to be taken for the establishment of a High Court bench in Kurnool.
It is known that the AP Assembly has approved a resolution to send to the Center to set up a permanent bench of the AP High Court in Kurnool. The government has also made plans to set up institutions like the Lokayukta and the State Human Rights Commission in Kurnool.
Jagan Government previously tried to dupe the people of Kurnool in the name of the Judicial Capital but the matter did not move an inch in five years.
