Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has advised the officials concerned to utilise latest technologies in the sanction of houses under the prestigious Indiramma Indlu — weaker section housing scheme, so that the benefit of the scheme reaches the last mile.

The Minister said that the government has decided to leverage artificial intelligence from selection of beneficiaries to completion of the houses. The statement comes after the government introduced a specialised App based on which survey had been conducted.

The Minister instructed the officials concerned to utilise cloud-based AI technology in verifying the details of the beneficiaries uploaded on the mobile App so that genuine beneficiaries were not left out. AI solutions could be utilised for checking the progress of construction of houses and making payments accordingly so that there is no scope for any irregularities.

Since the government had decided to make payments for Indiramma Indlu in four stages, officials concerned should take steps to make payments in time avoiding scope for any complaints from the beneficiaries. The government had decided to leverage AI technologies in the selection of beneficiaries to ensure that there was no political and other influences in the selection of beneficiaries.

Officials informed the Minister that sanction letters had been issued to 72,000 beneficiaries in possession of land and priority was given to poorest of the poor, specially abled people, widows and transgenders in the process.
