A disturbing incident at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj has led to the suspension of a police officer after a viral video showed him allegedly mixing ash into food meant for pilgrims.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Soraon police station, Brijesh Tiwari, reportedly took the action out of anger over a community-organized bhandara (free meal service) being set up without police permission.

According to reports, locals had arranged the bhandara near Bhavapur Toll Plaza Road to feed devotees walking towards the Sangam. Many vehicles carrying pilgrims were stopped by the police, forcing them to continue their journey on foot.

Witnessing this, the locals decided to provide food for them. When Tiwari arrived at the scene and asked them to vacate the area, they refused, leading to the alleged act of sabotage.
