Govt finalising hike in supply prices for beer companies | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The excise department is preparing to raise the supply prices for beer companies in the coming days. However, it remained unclear if the govt will also increase consumer prices.
According to well-informed sources, the prices are currently being finalised as the report from the price revision committee has been completed.
“A serious review is underway and the file will be presented to chief minister A Revanth Reddy. A decision may be taken following the cabinet meeting,” a source said.
Beer companies have been urging the govt to raise supply price by 20 to 33. The govt has dismissed such massive increase.
Sources said that the adjustment may be in the range of 6-15%, which may not be acceptable to many companies.
Though United Breweries, which had halted supply of beer demanding 33% hike, has begun supply, there is still stock shortage.
Telangana Beverages Corporation Limited officials have been asked to manage the stock carefully for next two days.
