The made-in-India Suzuki Jimny 5-door has been unveiled in Japan. The Jimny 5-door is manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Gurgaon unit. It is exported to almost 100 countries and is the second model after the Fronx to be supplied to the brand’s home market of Japan in FY2024-25. The 3-door version of the Jimny was already on sale in Japan. Now, customers will also have the option of a more practical 5-door version. India has emerged as a production base for the Jimny 5-door. It is the second most exported Maruti Suzuki in FY2024-25. The SUV has found buyers in markets like Mexico, Australia and South Africa. Maruti Suzuki exported 3.23 lakh vehicles to around 100 countries in CY 2024. It makes up 43.5% of all passenger vehicles exported from India.
