Radhakishan urges HC to quash FIR in phone tapping case

Hyderabad: Former DCP P Radhakishan Rao, one of the accused cops in the phone tapping case, has approached the Telangana high court urging it to quash the FIR registered against him at Panjagutta police station on a complaint by G Chakradhar Goud claiming phone tapping during assembly polls.
In his petition, Radha Kishan, who secured bail on Thursday in the main phone tapping case, expressed apprehension that police may arrest him in this FIR to ensure he remains in jail. He described the case as politically motivated because Chakradhar, a BSP candidate, had lost in the polls.
Chakradhar had complained that his and his family members’ phones were tapped by Radhakishan during BRS govt at the behest of Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao who had defeated him from the constituency in the 2023 assembly polls.
Chakradhar, in his complaint, had said that when he tried to financially help 250 farmers and their families, the police began to harass him to disclose his sources of income. He said that after failing to get a BJP ticket, he joined BSP to contest against Harish. Subsequently, all his key followers began to receive threats from police, he said. He said that Apple too sent him a warning that state agencies were tapping his phone.
He alleged that Harish was getting all this done with the power he had at his command as a minister and Radhakishan was the man who helped him.
