Hyderabad: Charging the Congress govt with failing to fulfil promises and betraying the people, BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday called on the cadre to prepare for a direct fight with the state govt on public issues. KCR also announced a massive public meeting in Feb.
KCR, who has been staying in his Erravelli farmhouse farmhouse for the past year since BRS’ defeat, met BRS workers and supporters from Medapally village in Jharasangam mandal of Zaheerabad constituency after their padayatra of 140 km. The former chief minister told them that he had been watching the Congress work for the past year and now the time had come to take on the govt directly.
He said people were disillusioned with the Congress govt in one year.
“Despite my warnings during the last assembly elections and voting for Congress, people are now paying the price for their mistake,” KCR claimed.
The BRS supremo accused the Congress govt of not implementing even a single welfare scheme properly.
He claimed that when the Congress conducted a survey on the BRS and Cong govts, 75% of people said they wanted BRS back. This was a clear indication of the govt’s performance and the mood of the people, he said.
“BRS fought for Telangana for more than a decade and finally achieved it. The state developed in all sectors during the BRS rule in 10 years. After Congress came to power, they bulldozed the system for 13 months and the misrule has harmed the state,” the BRS chief said.
He said that the BRS govt earlier announced Basaveshwara and Sangameshwara lift irrigation schemes, but the Congress govt stalled them. The state has been reeling under power cuts, water crises, farmers’ suicides, food poisoning in Gurukul schools, etc. The real estate market has also crashed in Hyderabad, KCR said.
